Cupcakes VS Muffins

Cupcakes and muffins, both are delicious treats in their own right. Some people fancy themselves a cupcake more than a muffin and vice versa. But what are the differences between the two and which could be considered better? My presentation will attempt to shed some light on this matter.
Let us begin with the cupcake. Cupcakes are usually the sweetest when compared to the muffin and smaller in size; made to serve one person. Consider it the child of your large birthday cakes. And just like the bigger cakes, it is rarely ever seen without icing on the top.
Muffins are larger in size when compared to the cupcake clan and also made to serve one person. They are slightly denser than the cupcake and are considered to be more bread-like than being similar to cake.
What makes them different?
Muffins are more versatile with the option of being made to be sweet or savoury. They are usually considered the healthiest when compared to their cupcake rival. The muffin is a welcomed addition to ones breakfast menu as they can be made to contain dried fruits, carrot bits or other healthy ingredients that will brighten up your breakfast without ruining your diet.
Cupcakes are popular for their sweet insides and their pretty appearance. You rarely ever come across a poorly decorated cupcake. The cupcake will always look its best. Popular flavours include the chocolate, vanilla and red velvet flavours. And they are mostly served at birthday parties or school events as they are popular within that demographic.
So what’s the verdict? Which one is better? Of course, that falls under what you need. For those who fear high sugar levels and prefer to stay on the healthy side, call the muffin man. For those with a sweet tooth and looking for something light, join up with the cupcake crew.

(This was just something I felt like talking about. Randomness at it’s finest.)
